Bank of America Awards Grant to Goodwill of Delaware & Delaware County
June 27, 2023
WILMINGTON, DE (June 27, 2023) – Leading regional workforce development provider Goodwill of Delaware & Delaware County, has been awarded a $50,000 grant from Bank of America to help to advance the organization’s mission to strengthen communities and improve economic mobility through the Power of Work.
Goodwill helps people–regardless of educational level or economic background–reach their full potential through learning and the power of work. This grant will better position the organization to serve communities that face challenges to finding and maintaining employment, including older workers, people with disadvantages and disabilities, youth, veterans and military families, and those with justice system involvement.
“We appreciate Bank of America’s generous award and continued support of our non-profit mission to improve the quality of life for people facing barriers to self-sufficiency,” said Colleen Morrone, President and CEO, Goodwill of Delaware and Delaware County. “This funding from Bank of America will help our efforts to serve low-moderate income communities with digital skills, work-based learning opportunities, job placement and job retention services.”
The grant is part of Bank of America’s philanthropic giving efforts in local communities. Awardees were selected for their commitment to addressing basic needs and workforce development for individuals and families.
“Goodwill of Delaware and Delaware County empowers people to build stronger communities by giving them the tools they need to succeed in the workplace,” said Chip Rossi, Delaware President, Bank of America. “We support their vital efforts to expand access to meaningful work in Delaware.”
