Goodwill Receives Grant from Delaware City Refining

Goodwill of Delaware & Delaware County receives grant from Delaware City Refining Company to support its work preparing people for new jobs
WILMINGTON, DE – Leading regional workforce development provider, Goodwill of Delaware and Delaware County, today received a $10,000 grant from the Delaware City Refining Company (DCRC). The grant will help to expand the number of people served through Goodwill’s programming focused on strengthening communities and improving economic mobility.
The grant is part of DCRC’s philanthropic giving efforts in local communities. Goodwill of Delaware and Delaware County was selected as one of the recipients of the DCRC 7th Annual Charity Golf Fundraiser, which was held at the DuPont Country Club on Monday, May 2, 2022. Goodwill was awarded these funds for their commitment to addressing community needs and for leading workforce development initiatives.
“The last two years presented us opportunities to serve individuals, businesses, and government entities in new more holistic ways than we did in the past. We established our Charity Golf Fundraiser to expand the refinery’s outreach efforts by raising funds to help meet the growing financial needs of charitable organizations throughout the state,” said Michael Capone, Delaware City Refining Company’s General Manager. “We selected Goodwill Industries as a beneficiary of this year’s fundraiser because it has a track record of strengthening communities by helping individuals and families get back on their feet through its workforce development program.
